Practical things you need to know if you want to reach 1,000lbs

Every fat person who developed things like heart disease and kidney disease had one thing in common - failure to properly support their spine when they were resting in bed.

A simple solution to this is to avoid commercially-available beds. Have someone who is handy in woodworking cut you a couple of 1" thick plywood boards, then reinforce them with 2X4 beams, and carriage bolt 4X4's at each corner, after they measure how much height you need to climb in and out of bed. Place a thick pad or mattress on the plywood board. This is basically a Finnish bed - the people with the least amount of back problems in the world.

Although the thought of becoming totally immobile is sexually appealing, in fact, always try to get some kind of movement - get out of bed, even if it takes an hour to do it. Getting into a swimming pool is ideal - your fat is buoyed and no stress is place upon ligaments and joints. Don't let 'them' talk you into walking - at weights over 400lbs, it may lead to rapid disintegration of knee joint linings and hip linings. Swimming is best. And never, never disagree with your doctors. Yes them. Let them think you are "doing your best" to lose weight. Above all don't let them think you actually want to get fatter or you may be in for big trouble. Just agree with them and tell them what they want to hear.

Drink plenty of water and fruit juices. Also, nutritional supplements like Ensure help nourish you and put weight on. Keep sexually active - don't let anyone tell you that you are too fat for sex! Also stay away from abusive relationships - remember, there are more men who are attracted to very fat women than women for the men!

I wish I could give every one of you a great big hug and kiss!

Thanks for explaining the Finnish bed. I'd never heard of one before. As a woodworker, I'd suggest a few hinges. Specifically, one hinge every few 6 to 12 inches across every beam of the bed to make 2 or 3 bends as opposed to a single point where the back
