Amy, you might want to consider doing some weight training...? I think this and walking are the two most fundamental types of exercise, especially for overweight people. And when I say weights, I mean proper stuff - big bar, heavy weights (once technique is mastered), compound movements (squats, deadlifts, cleans etc.). Real movements that will be useful for mobility etc.
That knee injury sounds nasty, though, so take case in anything you do even if it was 10 years ago!
I'm fond of walking and have been doing some of that for exercise lately. The weight training is also something I've been considering, as others have recommended it as well. I think it's something I could really come to enjoy, too. Thanks for the suggestion!
I agree with the weight training. And Real weight training-not little dumbbells "for tone" but real strength building. The biggest eye opener for me is the model Kellie Kay.She has always exercised quite vigorously including some real weight training.I saw a video of her weighing over 500 lbs and she popped right up off the floor with ease! This was after sitting down on her coffee table and absolutely breaking all four legs by accident.
So yes .Squats.Leg Curls Leg extensions.Lunges.Lat bar pulldowns.and Barbell Rows.Big muscle exercises to make you strong and mobile-but keep your weight or even gain more-as Kellie is Still doing to this day. Best wishes Maimee
