High calories on a budget

The basic cheeseburger from McDonald's is a surprisingly efficient choice at 300 calories for $1.

It depends on how healthy you want your food choices to be. In terms of cheap, crappy calories, Pop-Tarts are pretty good. Cheap, easy to eat anywhere, and 200 calories each. Up here you can get a box of8 (1600 calories) for $2.50 sometimes, and $2.99 almost anywhere, which is hard to beat. But it is all sugar bad oils, so be a bit careful.

The really cheap ways are cooking your own. Pan fried potatoes, or rice with butter or oil, will both only run you a few bucks for all you can handle. Just not very exciting.

My best suggestion: A 12-pack of Little Debbie nutty bars is 3.99 at Walmart. Each bar is 330 calories, which makes the full box 3960 calories. I also second the soda and the cake batter. Heavy cream goes a long way but isn't incredibly cheap. Fast food is always a great option! If you're looking to gain in a more healthy manner, however, none of those things are for you. :-)

Little Caesars has a hot n ready pizza for $5. Also check out the various little debbie and hostess cakes at your local grocery store. Also heavy whipping cream works wonders, and around here a quart goes for around $4. Most fast food places have a dollar menu, and you can buy lots of stuff from them. Hope this helps. smiley
