Willy Wonka definitely had an effect on me. As a kid I wanted to turn into a blueberry like Violet. I think it was also the earliest time when I realized I wanted to be a girl.

while I don't rewatch the scene for that purpose (from either film) because they depict children, there are many elements from the 1971 one that had quite an impact on me. Wonka's total emotional detachment and cool attitude, the poking, rolling, etc.

"there's no air in there, that's juice!" is a favorite line in any berry scenario for me still!
