The one way I can think of is to show support for her. Show her that it's ok for her to get fat and that she's in a safe place to do so

Make it an open subject of talk. Explore the subject with her, her feelings about it, her fears, her shames. Work on it.

There is a huge gap between emotions and what we think about them. Intellectually we can decide "this doesn't mater" but our feelings can still stand in the way. Talking it through helps uncover the often irrational logic of those feelings.
