Story authors

Let's say I post the first chapter of a story today, then add a chapter next week. Does the story show up then as just posted, or does it stay buried in the older material?

as roundandpear noted, rather than add a chapter to an existing story and essentially waste your time, create a new story with a bac*** in the introduction.
