Lazy girl

chapter 5

Janet continued to push the council, social services and the nhs for everything she could get. She considered she was entitled to her benefits, despite the fact she had never worked one day in her life.
Now she was above twenty five stones and approaching thirty stones, she was starting to get all the ailments she'd claimed to have for years. Her ankles, knees and lower back ached, especially if she stood for five minutes or longer.
She got diabetes, but made no adjustments to her diet.
A new one was sleep apnoea. She took great pride in showing anyone who came to her house her cpap machine. However, when it came to setting it up and putting it on every night, she could not be bothered. As usual, Alan had to do it for her.
She took to her bed around this time. She was still capable of getting around, but it was too much effort and that was something she did not like.
Lying in bed all day every day brought it's own problems. She didn't see it like that. She was a queen in her own boudoir. She had everything she wanted close to hand. She had her stick grabber if something was out of her reach, to save her the effort of stretching. She had a bell to contact Alan whenever she wanted anything... and that was frequently.
Life for Alan was considerably harder because Janet did nothing for herself any more. She wouldn't even brush her hair because she claimed her arms were above her head for too long and it hurt her shoulders.
She could not be bothered to get up to go to the toilet any more, so it was up to Alan to change her giant nappies and clean up her shit. He was only allowed to do it between gaming sessions though, because she did not like to be interrupted when she had her controller in her hand.
Every day she found something to nag him about. She never thanked him for the work he did. She hated being manhandled. She claimed to be covered on bruised from his handprints where he'd been trying to roll her over. He had to push her and pull her sometimes because she never helped.

One day, when she was heavier than thirty five stones, Janet had been particularly crotchety when he told her he'd had enough. He packed a small bag and walked out of the door.
Janet called out to him, but she could not get up to chase after him.
How dare he leave her like this! She was hungry! She wanted to be fed!
She she'd only selfish tears because he was no longer there to provide for her. After a few weeks, she had her own team of carers provided by the DSS. She had a hoist installed as they were not allowed to lift her.

She was totally dependent on them to get through her day, but she didn't care. The only thing she had to do was eat and sleep. It was what she wanted, she couldn't complain... but she could always find something to complain about.

I can just picture her becoming a prisoner to her gluttony and laziness by becoming immobile.
