Chapter 6

Nico debated telling his father he'd be hanging out with Dean. It's not as if Dean was Rick. Plus, Mr. Newton was his best friend. 'Would Mr. Newton be okay with Dean hanging out with me?' Nico wondered.

"Hey Dad?"

"What?" He grumbled as he ate the meal Nico prepared for him.

"May I have a guest over tomorrow?"

"Who? Better not be that Mick kid. He needs a haircut and new clothes."

"Dad, his name is Rick." He was about to tell him about his haircut, but kept his mouth shut. "And it's Dean Newton that wants to hang out."

"Hank's boy?"

"Yeah."

"O f course he can come over." He ate another spoonful of rice. "It'd be good for you to hang out with more positive people." Nico stood up, cleared his dishes, and stormed up to his bedroom.

At school the next day Nico talked to Dean. He agreed to come over as soon as practice ended. Rick asked what Nico was talking to Dean Newton about and he made up a lie about his dad. Rick believed him and asked if he wanted to go to the mall after school. He had to tell him that he was busy and felt like a terrible person. Lying to your only friend should never be considered a good idea.

He made it home a little bit past three. The Newton boys usually made it home at five. He, of course, prepared dinner for his father as he finished his homework. When five did come he saw them pull up in their white truck, which he had recently ridden in himself. His dad would be home at six. He set the plate of food in the microwave and ten minutes later, Dean rung the doorbell.

"Hi Nico."

"Dean." He stepped back from the door. "Come in."

"Smells great in here."

"What?"

" Like food."

"Oh, that's just what I made my dad for dinner." He felt his stomach tighten. Dean was just as cute as Hank Jr. and being so close to him made it very noticeable. "Would you like some?"

"Really? I'm really hungry...didn't get to eat yet."

"Okay." Said Nico as he smiled at the gay jock standing before him.

For nearly two whole months Nico and Dean hung out almost everyday, especially after football ended. Nico essentially began to avoid Rick. He hadn't really even considered WHY it was he didn't tell Rick he had been hanging out with Dean. Rick wasn't his boyfriend. It shouldn't have mattered.

The Newtons were going to Nebraska for Christmas break. Rick and Nico hadn't been on the best of terms and Nico finally went to talk to him. The Newton's had left a day early to catch their flight. To be honest, half the school didn't show up for the half a day before break would begin. Ricky was by his locker.

He had seen Rick everyday in class, but had not SEEN him. Glancing at the blond rummaging through Rick's locker, Nico felt it was a different person. His groin gave a stir and he blushed. He stood unnoticed by the boy packing a bag.

The boy...Ricky, was wearing his favorite FMA t-shirt and a pair of jeans. Nico swallowed, with some difficulty. He pulled out a jacket and candy wrappers littered the floor. Nico saw a meaty belly pushing out the fabric of his shirt. Ricky's once thinly muscled thighs were being hugged tightly by the denim. Nico felt short of breath, he felt this experience giving him a rush, like a peeping-tom.

He could just walk up and talk to Rick again. Ricky bent over to pick up the spilled candy wrappers and Nico saw what he had thought to be a fantastic butt two months ago. But now....it was just amazing. Nico ran off to the men's room feeling flustered and confused.
