Chapter 31 The ups and downs in life

After May, we wouldn't see 400 again on the scale for months.

After the cake stuffing Rachel and I did our best to go back to a "normal" routine.

After a whole month of continuous stuffings, going back to something a bit more sustainable was very much needed. It took us a couple of weeks to adjust as my wife's metabolism was absolutely fucked. She was so used to stuffing herself until practically passing out and then not eating for hours that she had a hard time going back to 3 meals a day.
Bare in mind that those 3 meals were very substantial, we weren't dieting, but she would still be hungry after eating and by the time the next meal was due, she wouldn't be hungry anymore.

By June we were practically back at our old eating habits, away from the feeding frenzy of moths past. And even though you could think it was disappointing, it was quite the opposite. You see, during the challenge, Rachel was completely dedicated to eating and so our life completely revolved around it, and nice as it was, it was even better to be able to have a life with my wife.
We were back at watching movies and series, at playing videogames, at having social outings and all of this with a rediscovered passion as Rachel's body was driving me insane.

But of course such a big change of habits comes with a price and even though I expected my wife to shed some water weight, I was disappointed nevertheless whe she hopped on the scale in July.

"Its.. three hundred... and ninety two... point six.. pounds" Announced the scale

"We'll get there again honey" I said, while kissing my beautiful wife on the neck.

And we did, several times in fact. She was back at 400 hundred in September after a feeding binge but when back down to the 390s soon after.
It happened again in November and she went back down to the 90s.
Her body seemed to have settled on that weight and it kept coming back to it every time.

We could have pushed hard like we did last time, but adding stress to it was just making it worse and on top of that it was an stressful yet exciting year. The main reason: we bought a house.
Finally our own place, no more renting, no more landlords, same city, but of course that implied a huge blow to our savings and to our peace of mind.

Either way, life just goes flying, and by the time I realised, it was New Years 2023 and we were at our new home and we commemorated the occasion by getting obscenely drunk and having very kinky sex on the bathroom floor. Afterwards I made Rachel weigh herself, no pressure, just out of curiosity as she seemed a bit rounder than moths passed.

"It's... four... hundred and.. one.. point.. nine pounds"

And I have never seen it go below that number ever again.
