Chapter 2: Actor doesn't fit costume

Once upon a time, there was an actor who was cast in a major production of a play. On the night of the play, the actor arrived to the theatre to find that their costume was too small. It seems they had gained a bit of weight since they were measured for the costume weeks before. The director was furious, as they had no other option but to try to make the costume fit.

The actor was apologetic and offered to pay for tailoring, but the director was not impressed. The actor was determined to make the best of the situation and put on the costume, squeezing themselves into it. But the director was not satisfied, and continued to chastise the actor for their weight gain.

The actor was embarrassed and humiliated, wishing there was something they could do to make the costume fit. Then, the actor had an idea. They decided to take off the costume and put a belt around the waist. This worked to make the costume fit, but the director was still not pleased. He said, "This won't do. You need to go on a diet and start exercising more. We can't have you showing up to the theatre like this every night!"

After that, the actor heard the other members of the Troup talking about their weight behind their back. But they decided to ignore it, and focus instead on making their performance the best it could be.

The show was a success and the actor received a standing ovation. In the end, the actor had learned an important lesson: if they wanted to be successful, they had to take care of themselves.

A few years later, they noticed that another actor named John had gotten so fat his pants had ripped. They sternly told the John to lose weight, but he insisted he hadn't gained weight at all, saying "It's the costume, not me!"

The actor smiled and said, "No, it's not the costume, it's you. Take care of yourself, and everything will be alright."

John nodded, and the actor was glad to know they had been able to pass on the lesson they had learned. However, John came back to the next rehearsal even bigger than before.

The actor sighed and said, "John, this won't do. You must take care of yourself so you can perform at your best. Otherwise, you risk ruining the play."

John nodded and said, "You're right. I'll do better."

The actor smiled, happy to know they had made a difference. After that, John was never late to rehearsal, and he kept his weight in check. The show was a success, and the actor was proud of their part in John's transformation.
