Chapter 3 - halloween

You know how it goes when you get stuck with that one shift that no one else wants to take? Ya thats me right now, I'm here on Halloween eve working the job I ALWAYS work where ever I go and what for? I was feeling so blah. Sure there was a fair number of customers, there always has been since I started working, but not nearly the amount we normally have. The ate, they drank, they had pie, and they left. I was so bored, old people, that what it was. Their teeth were going, their bellies sensitive to this that and the other thing. Ever try feeding the people who can't eat, you know when you have to practically chew their food for them? Its a bloody nightmare from hell, and trust me I've been there plenty.

Then it happened, Sarah walked in and oddly enough she was alone. It had to of been several months since I last worked with her, I sent her home with a slice of pie hoping that and a little bit of magic would bring her back. I mean I guess it did but I was hoping for something a little quicker. She looked a little different though. Besides they fact she was dressed up like slutty candy corn, she had gained a few pounds. It wasn't anything extrema maybe five pounds at most but she had definably gained it in the thighs and butt areas.

Now a normal individual probably wouldn't of notice but this got my heart jumping. My favorite client, gone for a long enough time I was worried she wasn't coming back, and here she was with her blond hair and blue eyes and good golly gosh one hell of a smile. It always makes me happy to see when someone puts on a little pudge without my help and to top it all off she was intoxicated. It looks like my night just got more interesting.

I put my face on again as I headed over to her table, I watched as she fumbled her way painlessly into the dinner bench at the table. She almost fell over and quietly bagan laughing. It wasn't too loud and it didn't seem to bother many of the other customers. Some of the Hallows Eve patroons began to eye the younger college girl at the table lustfully. I could tell what was on their mind and for a split moment I was going to push them to indulge. Thinking it over twice it wasn't a good night for that.

"Hello welcome to Scelus Sceleris, I'm Jason and I'll be your waiter tonight." I said acting as if nothing had seemed more normal. She was hungry I could tell. She held the menu flat on the table reading slowly and giggling every now and then. "What can I get you four this evening?" she looked up at me and I could tell she had been crying. Here eyes were read and a little puffy. She giggled for a moment and blushed.

"No I don't think you can get me what it is I want, I don't think I can order that here. Jason, why are you always here?"

Now for the most part I'm great at figuring out what people want, its part of the job title, but at this moment all my experience and supernatural abilities came up with nothing. "Um.... well, out pumpkin pie is still really good." As for the question, she didn't need to know about the chess game of souls and the cosmic balance that entails and how I play a roll in that, so I ignored it.

"That was so good last time. I had it for breakfast you know!" she started to giggle again. It was obvious she was far to drunk.

"Well thats good, here you look a little down, how about I give you another slice on the house?"

"You don't have to do that." She said. I know what she meant though.

"I insist, besides I'm not letting you drive anyway like this. I can call you a taxi if you would like, or I can let you stay here till you sober up a little bit."

"I don't really want to go anywhere, I was with this guy and we kinda got in a HUGE fight and I got out of the car. I had no idea where I was but then I saw this place and remembered."

"Well I know how things like that can go. Here, I'll tell you what, stay here till I get off in two hours and I'll drive you home how about that?" She light up like a light and hugged me from the dinner bench. It was awkward but it felt nice in an odd way. She then hid her face to hide the spreading blush that contrasted with her golden hair.

"Thanks" she said with a smile after she regained her composer.

I brought her a glass of water and a slice of pie. I noticed that she ate the pie quickly and barely touched the water. I brought her another and went on my rounds checking the other customers. Half way though I noticed it was gone. Part of me wondered if it was the alcohol it usually makes people listen to my... my suggestions a little more. Often leading to bad or regretful choices in the morning. Yes, you can thank my influence for that but please remember, your the one who did that to yourself.

I thought it would be fun to push her, she probably wouldn't remember it and even if she did,
she is emotional and I'm a nice stranger giving her free pie. By the end of my shift with a little help and some convincing on my part she ate half a pie, one milkshake, a fruit bowl, and two orders of hash browns to herself. Eventually she passed out at her table and I let her sleep off her Halloween binge knowing the hangover that would follow. I noticed the strings on the candy corn outfit were pulled rather tight. The lacing on the back was fighting against her breathing and it just looked uncomfortable with as full as she was it was good seeing how her clothing, such as it is, fighting to hold her and everything she just ate in. Only problem is... I have no idea where she live....
