Lucullus laments: tales of rome

Chapter 2 - i

76 b.c. Villa at Misenum
Now that we are finally together under our own roof, my lovley Clodia and I can finally get on with the business of marriage. Imagine Roman, what it was like for me to marry the flower of the Clodians, old Appius' daughter, and have to bring her back to my family insulum, where my brother, mother and sister all lived. No chance for marital bliss with two strong women under the same roof and with my brothers wife, that would have been three and no chance for privacy! Jupiter Above, it was a trying time, and you would as I did, jump at the chance to buy Misenum Villa from that shrew Cornelia Sulla! No bargain for friends of the family from that one, no. I served her father a Quaestor for eight long years, fought side by side against fellow Romans for him, and protected Cornelia time and again all for the pleasure of paying premium. I paid dearly, too many talents to write here without calling in my Greek for a bloodletting I must say, but Clodia is happy. Putting a smile on her chubby cheeks has been something I have been yearning to do in more ways than one.
I remember seeing her for the first time in Rome during my year as curule aedile, where I served along with my brother Marcus. We put on games and feasts that are still the talk of the epicures of the city, and it was at the feast of Jupiter Invicuts where I noticed a well proportioned young woman, golden haired and well breasted, with a beautiful almond shaped face literally covered in raspberry jam. She was oblivious to the stares she was receiving from those around and her blue eyes were blank with lust for the eastern delicacy. I strode to the table to get a better view, and as Curule Aedile for the year was pleased to find the crowd part for me. Upon reaching the other side of the table from her I was entranced to notice that her slim waist was supported by splendid hips and equally pleased by her snow white tunic, denoting her Patrician status. In a moment that lasted a lifetime, my heart was smitten with her beauty, and then my wandering eyes were captured by the firm gaze of her escort, a man I needed no introducing to, as he was one of the richest and best blooded Senators in Rome, Appius Clodius Pulcher.
"You like the look of my daughter I see Lucullus! Stand up straight girl!" He said firmly and clearly and caught her attention with a firm slap to the shoulder. With a whimper she shied away from the table, her eyes moving from her father,to me and then back down to the food before her.
"This is Lucius Licinius Lucullus, Clodia, and he will be joining us at our home for dinner in a week. Now we must be home or all that jam will puff you out like a pudding! You are too fat already Clodia, and I will have no daughter of mine fat!! It isn't Roman. Come now girl, and I will see you in a week Lucullus."
And with that, they were gone. I did notice her plump little behind jiggle for a moment beneath her tunic as they turned toward her litter and thought to myself that it was time, having been successful on the battelfield and now on the Cursus Honorum, it was time to take a wife!

That was how she had looked when I had first set eyes on her. Oh she promised perfection then. I did make it to dinner with her family where her father and I agreed that a marriage between our lines would be propitious for both families and it was arranged...though as she was only 15 it was not to happen for two years. During that time I was a busy man with serving out my Praetorship governing Africa though we did keep in touch. As she remained with her family, I received few letters though all informed me she was well, and not getting fat, which I found odd as I had let old Appius know that the girl was a bit thin and needed to be properly fed. My brother informed me by letter a year into my Praetorship that he had seen her at a festival and she had become so thin that it appeared she was sick leading me to write her father and tell him that I could not consent to marrying a sickly thin girl. My idea at the time had been simply to let the old man know that I cared about his daughter but Clodiuses have always been known as eccentrics and he was certainly a good representative of the family tradition. I got a letter a month later from Appius letting me know that his daughter was now eating heartily and that I should be sure to purchase some good strong Numidian slaves as litter bearers as women in his family had a tendency to be fat, and that Clodia, having always been chubby, would soon blow-up like a wine sack with all the food she was getting. I remember how my mentulla (penis) reacted to that news...I found it strange as I had never before felt a desire for fat on my women.
When I returned to Rome 8 months later I was not allowed to see Clodia as the wedding would be held in just a few weeks but in meeting with my brother, who had seen her, I was informed that she had definately filled out. On the day of the wedding she approached me wearing the typical yellow flamminia hooded dress, folds volumnously concealing her figure. As I kissed her at the dais I noticed first her wide blue eyes, then her silky blond hair and finally her apple red cheeks sporting dimples and was it...a smear of jam.
When we met on the wedding bed I found a plumpened goddess in my arms. Bountiful bossoms embraced by crows feet at the armpits, thickening shoulders, a soft and squeezable belly that allowed me a good handful of fat in my palm and a bottom that screamed copulation...big butt cheeks supported by soft, plush thighs. I lost myself in her embraces for what seemed like hours, until she informed me that I should have a slave bring her dinner...she was starving.
