chapter 3
Marco did come in and take her up on her offer. Over the next couple weeks, he started coming in often for breakfast. Each time he'd order at least two pastries along with a sugary mocha or caramel latte. Sometimes he'd pick up his order and leave, other times he's stick around and eat in. When he did this, Cadence loved to spy on him putting away her calorie-laden breakfast pastries. The way his clothes stretched over his full stomach captivated her. After sizing him up, Cadence determined that he was probably around 6 feet tall weighing close to 300 pounds.Although she was pleased to see him come in often and fill himself with a few fattening treats, she found herself daydreaming of him getting hungrier and bigger. She imagined him coming into the bakery and gorging himself with double, triple the amount of food, so enraptured by the taste of her cakes, croissants, and cookies that he didn't notice the buttons popping off his taut shirt. In these day dreams, she saw him greedily clearing out the entire case of donuts and then waddling out the door at the day's end, only to come in the next day, greedier and rounder, so round and heavy that he ended up breaking chairs.
Eventually, Cadence felt like her daydreams were starting to get out of hand. Any time he came in, which was almost daily, she felt exceedingly distracted for hours afterwards. She longed to fatten him up, but felt like her chances for that were limited in public at the bakery.
The bakery usually had leftover pastries. These were either sold as "day-old" baked goods, or taken home by staff. One evening, she took home a box of donuts and eclairs that were extra. She hoped she could drop it by Marco's as a "thank you" for being such a good customer. On her way home she imagined him becoming addicted to her cooking, greedily demanding cakes and donuts daily, and obliviously becoming pudgier and pudgier, fatter and flabbier. She wanted to tease him for all of his rolls and fleshy folds and to later apologize with a chocolate cake after he got upset with her.
But that was an absurd fantasy she thought as soon as she got home that day and set the box down on her counter. She looked the box containing thousands of sugary, fattening calories and told herself it was cruel to wish this upon a man she barely even knew. "For all I know," she thought, "he probably really struggles with his weight. He's probably hampered in his social and love life because of it. He'd probably give anything to quit overeating and become slim." Her arousal turned to shame. "What kind of freak am I?" She thought. After a few minutes of struggle she decided to deliver the box anyway. She certainly wasn't going to be eating them.
"Oh hi" Marco smiled as he answered the door.
"Hey Marco! Hey, this is random, but I get these day-olds from the bakery often. It's stuff that's still good but not fresh enough to sell the next day. Do you want them?"
"Of course I do, thanks! These look so delicious."
"Hey..." she hesitated a bit, "what are you doing tonight?"
"Umm honestly? I know it's a Friday night but I'm kind of a shut-in. I'm probably just going to crack open a beer or two and eat some cereal for dinner in front of the TV" they both laughed.
"Do you want to do that at my place? I don't have much of a life either and wouldn't mind hanging out with someone."
"Yeah, sounds good!" Marco smiled.
"Alright, see you in a couple of hours."
