The getaway

chapter 4

"Hannah?" heard the brunette, cutting her daydream short.

Looking up she saw her mom standing in the middle of the living room, wearing a chic Chanel blaser.

"'I'm leaving for the rest of the day and Madison is coming up, the front desk just noticed me" announced her mother while walking out the room.

Picking her phone up, she saw the date and sighing she put it back down. Exactly a year ago she had met Toby in Turks and Caicos. No text from him, only one from Madison. At first they were texting everyday and Facetiming as much as possible but the distance made it difficult on both of them. Her life was in New York and his in California. It also didn't help that after running away to that island without telling anyone first her parents had kept a close watch on the brunette. Even though she was safe she was also very bored. Everyone was the same and so predictable to her.

She used to be popular in her circle of rich Manhattan friends, but due to her lack of interest over the past year she lived a much more secluded life. Only Madison had made efforts to continue hanging out with her.

"Well good morning Dracula" smiled Madison taking a seat in a chair in front of the couch where Hannah was sitting.
"Ha-ha very funny" said Hannah while rolling her eyes.
"So what do you want to do? We're certainly not staying cooped up in here on a beautiful summer day" announced Madison.
"I don't know" sighed the brunette sitting back in the comfy cushions.
"Let's do something crazy. Like back in the day. Remember when we were kids and stole one of my dad's credit cards" laughed Madison.

They thought they were being crazy bad, but Madison put it back after their shopping spree and he hadn't even noticed or mentioned it. Everything was swept under a rug in Manhattan.

"I know what we're doing, come on! I figured out how to fix your non-existent tan. We're going to borrow the family jet." said Madison getting up from her seat and picking her bag up in the same motion.

//5 hours later//

Madison had allowed her to pick any sunny destination. Before she could even think about it the words Los Angeles were already out of her mouth.

"Tell me why LA of all places?" asked Madison looking at Hannah straight in the eyes.
"Well. I guess there's someone? I'm not sure there is to be honest." answered the pretty brunette turning her head to look outside.
"We don't need to talk about it, don't worry." said Madison letting it go.

They landed not long after and walking out of the jet, two suvs were waiting for them.

"Go get them tiger!" smiled Madison referring to the two cars.
"You're the best, thank you so much Mad" said Hannah hugging her tightly and getting in the back of her car.

"Malibu, Grayfox street" only said Hannah to her driver who nodded. She remembered his address by heart, always considering writing him a letter but never going through with it.

After about an hour drive they arrived at his house, even though you couldn't see it with the gate and trees. They pulled up to the gate and she pressed on the intercom.

"Good day, what can I do for you?" asked a lady's voice with a hint of hispanic accent.
"Tell him it's Hannah" said the brunette, her heart beating way too quickly.

A few seconds later the gate slowly started opening, revealing the way to the beautiful mansion.

Author's note: I apologize that this chapter was a filler, but it sets things into place for the rest; it won't be as slow anymore!
