When I go to their profile it just shows the Follow button, and if I click it I get the "you're already following this member" error. Is it bugged?

The unfollow button is in a weird spot. To access it, you have to click the house icon at the top of the page. Once you are there, you will see everyone you're subscribed to.

There is an edit button. Click on that, and you can unfollow people.

Yeah, it's not intuitive at all. I only know this because someone who's been on the site for ages helped me out.
