Dextrose + heavy cream is incredibly potent

I'll admit I've been pretty half assed in the whole gaining thing, and most of the time I only get into it a few times per year on those days I'm by myself and feeling really horny. That being said those high calorie shakes I've had on those days were so potent they've given me belly fat that still hasn't gone away no matter how much I've worked out or how little I've eaten. It's true what they say in that taking maltodex/ dextrose with a ton of fat makes it all go to your belly.

Though obvs don't do it all the time because that's how you get diabetes.

Not sure about diabetes but I'd worry about hepatic steatosis (fatty liver), Stuff with Afro doll corn syrup is especially bad for that Because your body cannot use this 5 carbon sugar as fuel unless it turn it into a fatty acid, which are stored in the liver. At least, this is what I remember from a course I took a long time ago...

I know people bring up the idea of taking different supplements to gain weight often but they all get shot down for increasing your likelihood of getting diabetes. But is there actually a supplement that could help speed up your weight gain without all these side effects?

Anything that speeds up the weight gain process comes with a host of side effects. This is why those who choose to take it only do so short term.

Weight gain is a process, in order to maintain the increasing weight you have to trust the process. I wouldn’t recommend you to rush and speed up things. Too much weight on shortest period of time, might cause unchanging harms. If you gain weight in course of a year or two you might succeed more in steadily increasing your weight without too much stress on your body, but you still need to prepare yourself for a future challenges. That being said, start with increasing your meals, food intakes and try to eat more snacks in between. Also I would involve a doctor, telling them you need to gain weight for a project and want to do it in a healthy way, you’ll surprise what the advices that they will give you. Just ignore the negative ones 👅

Define "short term" please. I started a mass gainer and I would like an estimation of what time-frame could be relatively safe. If I should take breaks every now and then and so on.

I don't care much about my health, if I'm honest, but I wouldn't want too disabling consequences.

You should care about your health. Not caring about it means you will struggle to keep gaining or even stay fat.

No so fun fact: rapid weight loss can be a sign of out of control diabetes.

As for short-term, it really depends on the person. It can be anywhere from a few days to a month. I say a month because if you do long-term rapid gains with any method, your body will start to punish you by about a month into things.

If you want to be smart, lose the dextrose. This way you can drink it without taking breaks. And make sure you are following the instructions. Mass gainer is high in protein. Overconsumption of protein leads to kidney damage.
