Gaining

Increasing capacity without overdoing it to prep for a trip

My wife and I are going to be going on a trip to Disney in about 6 weeks and I know that Disney has quite a few "all you care to enjoy" restaurants. I was wondering if anyone had any advice that would help with increasing capacity so that I can get my money's worth at these buffets without overdoing it to the point where I'm uncomfortable in the weeks leading up to the trip? I'm trying to be more balanced in my approach to gaining since it's definitely not fun to eat until I feel sick and can't eat for a day or two, but I also want to have a bit of fun with it.

I went to DisneyWorld last year, and there were some amazing buffets that you can enjoy (though I'm not sure about getting your money's worth - that was a PRICEY trip! lol)

The difficulty with stuffing at Disney is that you're typically there for the rides and the experiences rather than for just the food, and the parks require a LOT of walking. Depending on when you are going, it can also be really hot and humid in the park, which makes walking around even harder. Lastly, some of the rides are pretty wild - I can't imagine I would enjoy riding some of the awesome coasters with a overly full stomach!

So I think the key for you will be about building a good capacity without pushing so far that you reach that "sluggish, food coma" phase.

Honestly you might get the best prep out of just eating large amounts of your regular diet accompanied by water (both for belly expansion and to get in the habit of hydrating!) and then going for a walk. Try to find the sweet spot of "stuffed but not incapacitated".

Have fun! Disney rocks - it's so expensive, but it really is an amazing experience like no other!
