I am a fat guy looking to get fatter. Every time I'm in a gaining phase, I focus on fast food and junk. This time is no different. I've said dozens of times that I need to be smarter about it.
I want to shift my strategy (again, I know I've said that before). I'm planning on finding a plan that prioritizes macros - not just calories.
There are plenty of calculators out there showing what one should eat to gain/lose/maintain. They are wildly different from one another. Plus most of them focus on being lean.
In the end, I know the biggest factor is just calories in and calories out. But how do we know what is right for each of us? Is it a matter of trial and error? Seeing what works and what doesn't?
When I try eating better (mainly for losing), I look at labels a bit more, but not still not in great detail. What is a good ratio of Protein/Carbs/Fat - especially for wanting to get fatter? Does the ratio change as you get bigger?
