As to what you can do, there's nothing I can add that hasn't been said before. Just remember that any girl who might grab your attention is also:
a. A human being, and therefore has feelings. And
b. May or may not already be emotionally fragile, so if you were to do what you have confessed to doing in the past it could damage her psyche for the rest of her life.
Never forget that everyone around you has hopes, dreams, insecurities, faults, fears, and aspirations.
