I have noticed and seen this eating/consuming large volumes of food go in cycles.
There are times where my wife consumes way more food and desserts than normal for several weeks or months and then it tapers off usually with some good gains.
Keep up the eating and work through the times where you are not so hungry by still eating lots of calories and you are sure to stretch you belly and gain loads of weight.
