Not so easy being 62 either.

I've been here about 8 yrs. & I've had few problems getting people to talk.First off I try to get to know folks by greeting them as they enter(Even before I became a Mod).I try to join into the conversations going on in the room.I read profiles to see what people like & if I have anything in common with them.I NEVER try to PM anyone the 1st time I see them.Let them get to know a little about me in the main.If they want to PM me fine.If not that's fine too.Too many come in the room & start at the top of the list PMing everyone they can expecting to get folks to fall all over themselves to talk to them.That doesn't happen.
So I say just be yourself & let people get to know you.

I would say quite a bit has to do with how active you are on the site. The more active and engaging you are with others, the less it is seen that you are just some creep waiting to get his fix or something.
