Gaining

Latest generation of gainers..

Is it my imagination (or my wishful thinking) or are feedees less conflicted than they used to be? It seems more and more of them jump right into gaining and don't look back.

Yeah, there's still a lot of resistance to active gaining amongst gainers who start out as thin.

Though I do think there's generally a lot less ambivalence in those gainers who are already fairly overweight.

Hello, Doctor. Good to see you again smiley

I don't know if this applies to new feedees as a whole, but I've been spending some time on Tumblr (which I eventually discovered is riddled with teenagers), and follow a lot of feedist blogs. What I've noticed is that the younger feedees/feeders/gainers are much more confident in their fetish and decide to gain weight much earlier/younger than those of us who didn't have the internet as we know it during puberty.

I think the normalising effect social media has really helps them overcome the social pressures that prevent people from gaining. That and, since the majority of them are American, they're growing up in the fattest nation we've ever seen, which also allows being fat to be less abnormal than it may have been for some of us older folk.

I imagine that if I'd stumbled across feedism early in my adolescence, instead of at 19 like I did, that by the time I got to college and away from home I'd be chomping at the bit to fatten myself up! FF and feedist communities are so important in providing me a sense of normalcy that I'm almost sure I would have arrived at my current point (happily fat and getting fatter) much faster if my world then had looked like theirs today.

Kids these days have it so easy!

No doubt! I mainly wanted to do a reality check, and see if the consensus of opinion was with me.

The ability to google "I like being fat" makes life easier I think.

Back in the early 90's when "YOU"VE GOT MAIL" would yell at you when you logged in there was very little fat support. There were a few sites, but maybe a handful of them with mostly self supplied content.

A website like this, full of HUNDREDS (if not thousands) of others who feel just like me, that just didn't exist.

Now, you type it in and you are instantly connected with a community of others who can validate that you are not crazy, that you are not alone, and that even if those around you do not understand, its your life, not theirs.

Dr., you know that a huge challange many face when the write you is "acceptance" and worry about "what other think." With the ability to find that a whole world exists of "others" who agree (and some of us who actively encourage WINK) it must make the angst of being a "FA" or "Gainer" teens much better.

I feel that the "obesity epidemic" or "fat acceptance" social movements have played a large part. While there is still pressure to stay Hollywood thin, there is more fat visible in society. This allows for feedees/foodies to come out more and and embrace what they are smiley

I would agree with the above and the fact that most are working longer hours and there is little time for exercise, has led feedees and foodies to more openly embrace who they are and celebrate it. With 75% of American adults overweight or obese, being fat is no longer viewed as a negative for many people and gaining weight is much more accepted. This makes it a great time to be an FA and a gainer.

Another aspect is reality television-even given the sensationalism that accompanies it. When you have a Paysite Model on tv discussing intentional gaining. It lets the closeted Feedees know they are not sick. And not the only person in the World with these feelings.
And of course sites like this one and the other two Curvage and Dimensions.
I see profiles at least 3-4 times Every year that say something like"I thought my desire to gain weight was only mine until I found this site. So great to know other's are like Me".
