Gaining

How long does it take to develop a sugar addiction?

I know it's more healthy to gain with fat and not with sugar, but I just want to gain a small amount (10-20 pounds) and doing it with sugar is much easier.

How unhealthy would this be? My BMI is currently 21.5 so gaining with sugar shouldn't be too bad, right?

Also, will I develop a sugar addiction if I do this?

becomingoverweight:
Probably pretty unhealthy. Can you taste chocolate properly? If you can, you might want to look into gaining with cocoa butter. It has a chocolaty aroma. You might be able to tolerate it.

Why would it be unhealthy? I'd still be within normal BMI ranges (I'm currently 5'10", 150 lbs)

It's not being overweight which causes health problems, it's having too much visceral fat which causes health problems. You don't need to be overweight to have excess visceral fat.

How much visceral fat is too much? Even if all of my fat gain is visceral, 10 pounds doesn't sound like too much.
