I was wondering if anyone had tried this and what the results were. I've decided I want to gain some weight as a trial run, and this feels like a simple way to do it.
My plan is to keep my normal, fairly healthy, diet, but to add heavy cream on top of it. As I gain weight I would up the amount I am drinking. I figured I could start with half a pint or something until my body adjusts and go from there.
Yes, that's exactly what I'm doing. I eat the same, healthy diet that I ate when I weighed 166 pounds, and I just add heavy whipping cream on top of it. I rely entirely on the heavy whipping cream for my weight gain.
In gain my weight in 4-week cycles, and take a 1-week break in between. During my break, I only eat my healthy diet, which basically means I'm dieting for a week. After my break, I start back up. Rinse and repeat.
I drink a lot of heavy whipping cream (1 and 2/3 quart per day), but I spread that out. The body can only absorb 1,000 calories of fat in one sitting, which is about 10 fluid ounces of heavy whipping cream. It also takes about 2 hours to digest the fat.
By drinking a lot of heavy whipping cream on top of my healthy diet, I've managed to gain 23 pound in the first three weeks of my current gaining cycle.
So yes, what you're suggesting can definitely work. Best of luck, and happy gaining!
