Most obese people have super fast metabolisms because their body is accustomed to processing massive amounts of calories. This is why super fat people can drop huge double digit weight rapidly by small changes such as cutting out soda. No exercise involved.
While someone slim at 15% body fat has to brutally cut by 500-1,000+ calories and do cardio 1-2x a day to trim just a couple pounds a week.
