For your basal rate you might calculate it as your weight times 13.
for me, 265 x 13 = 3227 cal a day
this is kinda typical ... I am super active so 265 x 15 is probably more accurate.
Disclaimer ... everyone is different, this os just a guideline to help!

I thought you had to eat 20 times as many calories as what you weight in pounds so 250 pounds x 20 would be 5000 calories a day: said by a body builder in 2013

I know that I'm just saying I got that from a body builder and it works to gain fat.
