Your body has its own goal weight, determined by something called "leptin resistance". There's a lot of interesting science behind it, but the tldr here is that once you're at a weight for a while, your body only ever wants to be that weight, and it'll burn more or less calories in an attempt to keep you there, and even alter your appetite.
For gainers, Heavy Cream has been proven to help increase leptin resistance, and that's probably why so many people talk about delayed gains... Because you raised your set weight.
For losers, leptin resistance is generally a one way trip. Once you've been, say, 300 for a couple weeks there's a 99.9% chance that however much weight you lose, you'll be heavier than 301 in 5 years.
I used heavy cream a lot in the beginning and I had the delayed weight gain effect. I was doing binge funnel feedings with no regularity. The weight would go on and then it would come off a couple of months later after I stopped. I was going from 220 to 230 and back. Then I finally got serious about it and the weight stayed on once I got into the 240's. I could still loose weight but I would bounce back fast. Then once I got past 255 the weight no longer comes off. I did 4 months of 1500 calorie days and health food shakes last year and I didn't loose a single pound.
