This is gonna sound crazy, but for a long time I considered myself "healthy fat". What I mean by that, is that I used to go to lots of concerts and festivals and my feet and back would hurt but I'd be right as rain within the next day (I weighed between 380 and 420 at that time and had an active job ).
Last night I went to see one of my bucketlist bands. The day started strong. I picked seating rather than standing cos 5+ hours on my feet days are long gone. Had my compression socks on cos I knew there would be stairs. And I had climbed them at the arena before about 4 years ago. There is no rail to help get up them and my tickets were towards rhe top.
Im currently at my highest weight. Yall. I have NEVER huffed and puffed that much in my goddamn life. I had to stop every 2 stairs. I had to hold my husbands hand to get up the stairs nearly pulling his 150lb frame down with me.
When I finally got to the seat I realised my ass no longer fit on the seat fully and my knees were stuck into the seat in front of me. My thighs brushed the guy in front of me as I constantly kept shifting because my inner thighs were burning.
At the end of the gig it took me nearly 35 mins to get down the steps and over to car pick up. I had to rest on the stairs and ushers offered me help. Oh and I made my husband stop and by me a £4 water because my throat was ao dry from trying to catch my breath.
Today I'm laying in bed with my feet elevated because both legs are fucked and I have to talk myself into standing up every time I need to go to the bathroom.. which takes 3 minutes even tho it's 6 feet away. I wouldn't change a thing. The show was rad.
Moral of the story. I'm gonna have to invest in a mobility scooter. And sit in the handicap section. Cos that stairs and walking shit is for the birds.
Thanks for listening to my struggle story
