Intros in notifications?

Hi, I only noticed this today, in my notifications.

[User] is xx miles from you in [Location] Why not introduce yourself?

[User] is new to the website. Why not give them a welcome?

Is this a new feature? How does it work?

I honestly thought I had multiple spam bots on my account until one of my notifications was from an active user.

I think it's an attempt to boost engagement.

Sure, sometimes people are shy to interact, but if you feel like it just click the message icon to quickly contact the other person.

Thank you for explaining!

Noticed that myself.
Seemed intrusive at first but I see why they would do this.

Noticed it, too. Lets you know when other members live close by, etc.

We're trying to build up the community and get people interacting a bit more. After all, we're all into the same kind of thing.

It would be great at some point to move it offline too and have more real world interactions. I really thing communities are important, and love helping to bring people together.
