Heya,

I understand why "transgender" is listed as a gender, although it kinda opens its own can of worms, but could there be "Trans Masc", "Trans Femme", "Trans Non-Binary" and "Trans Other" breakdown so the gender identifies not only some people are trans but also their gender.

I don't think I'm saying anything new, but the transgender catch-all is useless. The site doesn't do this with cisgender people.

I'm cis. You wouldn't put all cispeople under a catchall cisgender label. You'd specify. I'm pretty sure a person looking to talk to a man would be super disappointed to find out I'm a woman.

Sure, the trans experience is much more than transman and transwoman. But it would be nice to give more options than "transgender" and "no gender".

It is, so, I understand they can't list every trans identity, but like, most trans people are either trans masc, trans femme or non-binary. Just having an "trans other" would still acknowledge their transness if they want to display it, but also acknowledge it doesn't fall within the more common categories.

But it is as you said: Calling someone "Transgender" as a gender is kinda useless if you want to know who you're talking to, as it isn't a gender. It's just means my Assigned Gender At Birth (AGAB ) doesn't match my current gender.

This is something that is already on our to do list. We tend to update the site in sections so when the profiles are due to be looked at again we will look to add this Trans (Male) and Trans (Female) as options rather than having Transgender as a catch all summary.
