I've always been a slow eater, and my years of fighting an ED made it worse.
Although my appetite has increased as I've gained (yay!) I'm still the last one to finish. I'm usually baffled by people who seem to be able to talk through dinner, not talk with a mouthful at all, and still have their food disappear. π
When I try to rush just to keep up, I get indigestion and even heartburn, perhaps from ...anxiety? I don't drink a lot (water) before or while eating, I don't *think* I swallow a lot of air? This happens no matter what the food is, a salad, a burger, ice cream, anything.
So, I can eat MORE but it takes even longer. When I'm home alone it's fine but I have limited time at work, and it's embarrassing when I am out with other adults.
Right now I want to keep gaining, which means eating more, which means taking so much longer. Anyone else experience this? Any ideas for improving this at all??
