I just started my career as a welder a couple of months back.Making accurate welds takes a lot of focus and you need to be able to adapt to different positions like leaning forward, kneeling down, etc.Luckily most projects involve easy positions to weld on and if I have trouble with getting into a certain position,my much more fit welding partner helps me out with it
Were my weight causes problems is that there are certain positions that are difficult to do the fatter you are.Kneeling down and crouching down is a nightmare since it tiers me out really fast and it gets harder to focus with every second that passes by due to fatigue. Also, some spots that I need to weld on are hard to reach, some of these are literally impossible because my belly gets in the way so I call my other partner to do it.
Lastly, there are some projects that involve climbing through some holes and other obstacles. There was some occasions we're I just too fat to fit though something.First time i learned about that,I tried to force my belly to fit but I ended up getting stuck lol.
This inevitably will force me to stop gaining weight a bit earlier than expected but that's ok,I'm planning to just put on a couple of more pounds before I reach a comfortable weight
