First breakup

I honestly don’t know how to feel right now

Not that long ago, the girl I’ve been dating for over a year and I broke up. It wasn’t bad, as a matter of fact, we decided to stay friends, but I’m a little, I don’t know, confused(?) on how to proceed

I want to date again, no one wants to die alone after all, but I don’t feel like it at all again (at least for the moment), and since I recently got laid off, I’ve just been staying in my room/house all day. I don’t feel down or depressed, but I feel deflated? I guess?

It might sound a bit dumb, specially coming from a 20-something year old, but I guess I just need figure it out

Even tho I've never been in a real relationship,I somewhat understand were your coming from and I think its a completely natural feeling that eventually pases as long as you have other life goals in mind.Ive been wanting a relationship for the past year now but at the same time I dont even know if im mentally ready to be in one.I know it's hard to stay positive(especially when you compare yourself to people who are close to you) but I just appreciate the little things in and look forward to other things in life. Its better to not rush things, especially when we're this young.

I didn’t think I was ready for a relationship when we started dating, I just winged it and it worked out. If you know someone that makes you want to take the plunge, as it were, go for it

Also, I guess I just got used to being in a relationship, so not being in one feels off. Probably what I’m feeling

I sympathize with you. Breakups really suck, especially when you’ve got over a year in the relationship.
My personal advice would be to wait until you’re ready. Having been through my own share of breakups, I can say that you’ll eventually reach a point where you’re feeling much better, and that will be far healthier for both you and the person you date. Besides, you’re still in your twenties, and there will always be plenty of single people- you don’t need to worry about dying alone for a long time. Good luck!

Break ups suck. Doesn't matter your age or how many you've had. The best thing to do is to mourn the relationship, learn and grow from the experience, and move on when you are ready.
