Most fruit is gross now because they don't let it ripen long enough. If I wanted it to be that sour, I would have bought lemons instead of blueberries.

Most fruit will continue to ripen on the counter. Just don’t eat it the minute you get it home from the store and don’t refrigerate it unless it’s the sweetness you’re looking for. Berries are a little different, but you have to be picky with them out of season anyways.

All true. Plus, most places purposefully sell under-ripe fruit. It just makes logistical sense.

Some fruits will stay good for a bit once they are ripe, but most don't. The store also doesn't expect the fruit to sell out immediately. So most fruit isn't ripe when it hits the shelves to extend the shelf life.

This is the "Most Controversial Food Opinions" thread. It's the whole point of the thread. If people post popular food opinions, they are doing it wrong.

Pickles are disgusting, sorry not sorry. I also hate eggs and think eggs are only good for baking and that's it.

Ok, here's my hot take. The only good use for cupcakes is when you're hosting a children's birthday party. Real cake is superior in every way. Bigger portions, better flavors, less waste, and cheaper by the pound. Plus there's no annoying paper to peel off of every slice which always takes some of the cake with it.

In Japan it's complicated; there are so many pickles!

Some of them are sweet and tasty, some are salty or spicy, which I love too. Some taste to me like they were fermented in toe jam and piss.

Spicy pickles are where it’s at. Honestly I just started throwing hot peppers in my pickle jars I get from the store gives them a bit of a kick

Have you tried sweet jalapeno pickles?? They're delicious!

Dill pickles aren’t my thing, unless they’re on a Cuban sandwich.

I will stand at the kitchen counter and eat pickled garlic out of the jar though. I love a good kimchi, and danmuji, and the pickled cabbage stuff you get with pupusas, and pickled red onions… just not your standard dill pickle.
