Most of the time it was sitting way too far back. And yeah rocking them to get up.

I would try it but pretty sure I am too wide to fit in it
The weakest part of those chairs is the bracket that help it recline.
I have broken a few of those kind of brackets on car seats.

I agree. Also the seat frame seems to take a lot of stress. When I was 14 my mom was around 320lbs and had one exactly like this but blue, she was rocking in it and splintered the spring board and went through the cushion, ripping the fabric and all. It was pretty awesome to hear and witness.
