Fat experiences

Things you notice as you get fatter

MottiF:
Since I gained weight, I noticed that itโ€™s became harder to climb the stairs; my appetite grow, I eating much more, my clothes getting tight and smaller, all my pants are very tight on the hips area, and now I am getting a much noticeable double chin and I can feel it while looking down, also now I have to squeeze into my chair at the work, and not just seating on it like before.

Chubbydiva:
For me, climbing the stairs becomes harder, out of breath. I take the elevator. Walking turned into a waddle, my chins are much more noticeable.

Chins jiggle too? ๐Ÿ˜‰

- my arms swing a lot with few movements
- Most pants mark my fupa
- My breasts have gotten softer and when I'm in the car they bounce like jelly
-My belly covers my legs and prevents me from tying my shoelaces without running out of breath

Fat On The Inside:
It's a super funny little thing that may seem kind of obvious when you think about it, but I've noticed tags in my pants and shirts which I never noticed before. As I get bigger, I have to cut out shirt tags and pants tags that never bothered me before. This is kind of mundane, but on a fun note, I love the way my love handles jiggle when I walk and the way my breasts weigh me down.

Oh. I've started noticing tags more lately (even in the larger clothes I bought myself). I thought it was because of my autism and feeling more anxious lately, but I didn't know my recent weight gain could explain this change in sensitivity...

I've noticed with the weight I'm at & actually for the last few years, I can only buy shirts in one particular brand. Can't buy them at other places like Walmart. Walmart's biggest size is a 3XL but it's a tight 3XL. So I resort to Carhartt & they have big & tall sizes which are very helpful.

I'm still on the smaller side (220 but a fair bit of that is muscle so not much of my weight is in my belly) but now that I'm actively gaining weight it's the little things that stand out to me the most. Like I have to work a lot harder to reach down to grab something, and my center of mass has changed so I've had to change the way I stand up from sitting on the floor. Also this is hard to describe but just the act of taking up more space is a really weird feeling. Like I've gained weight before when I was putting on muscle, but muscle is much denser than fat so even though I was heavier I wasn't really that much bigger. But now after putting on 25 lbs of fat since the beginning of this year, there's a weird disconnect between how much space my brain thinks I take up versus how much I actually take up.

Things you notice as you get fatter

when picking things off the ground my belly really gets in the way of that!

sitting in a moving car makes me wobble so much more that before- distracting sometimes!

and pants being too tight! it's unoriginal, but a good measure of progress~

Things you notice as you get fatter

When I was hard core gaining, I noticed:

- My appetite and capacity continually growing
- increasing difficulty touching my belly button
- Fitting differently behind the wheel of my car, until I ultimately outgrew it and had to move up to a van.
- Needing to set the thermostat progressively lower because my fat was keeping me warm.
- Finding it harder to navigate bathroom stalls until I eventually got too fat for the ones that aren't designed for accessibility.
- Others no longer noticing big gains (because 500 doesn't look much different than 470)
