I work at a small warehouse assembling custom wheelchairs for a living. I'm the only tech in the warehouse full time, while my coworkers handle deliveries. So that means I'm the one who assembles all the chairs that go out. And as part of my duties I have to test drive each chair (usually just driving it around the warehouse) just to make sure everything got assembled correctly and there aren't any issues from the manufacturer. This worked fine when I first got the job a few months ago as I fit well enough in most of the chairs to at least drive them around even if it wasn't the most comfortable thing for some of the smaller ones. But this week I've noticed it's becoming more of a squeeze in some of the chairs I had no problem with before. And ive had a couple occasions now where I've had to take the arm rests off completely just to test drive the chair around the office. Now I'm almost scared/excited to exceed the weight limit on some of them. Most of them have maximum weights of 250/300/350 lbs, so I almost view those numbers as goal weights to achieve.
So now I'm curious, what are some of y'all's stories of how your weight affects your performance or just how you go about your work?
