Jeans just won't stay up!

Try using button style suspenders (braces in the UK). Forget about the clips. Clips either never grip properly, or are so rough as to wear out the waistband (primarily the more industrial/lumberjack type of clips). Buttons are the only way it'll stay connected reliably for hours, or weeks/months/years on end.

It's pretty easy to sew on the buttons. You'd want to sew the buttons on the inside, since on the outside looks very strange in this day and age. Now, locations of the buttons:

In the rear, about 2-3 inches on either side of the rear seam.

On either side.. you have one button that's about half an inch away from the side seam, towards the front. The other button will be on the waistband, above wear the crease would be, if you did crease. It doesn't matter whether you crease or not.

You should try to keep to these guidelines as long as possible. But, I suppose it's possible that beyond a certain very large size, you'd be forced to eventually deviate from these guidelines, since you can't really have each pair of buttons be farther than 6 inches apart. If that happens, find the midpoint between the two points I mentioned earlier, then 3 inches from either side of that midpoint.

I hope this helps. Correct button placement seems to be partially forgotten by the population as a whole, so hopefully what I said is helpful to someone.

Wow. Thats a wonderful post with some very useful information on button placement. I agree entirely with the clips being useless in the longer term when under the sort of strain we are talking about with a nice big belly!

Help! Because of the shape that my fat has proportioned, I can't seem to keep my jeans or trousers up properly at all, even with a belt. My underbelly pushes them down, and my back kind of slopes down to my bum so the jeans just slide down all the time. Does anyone have any tips on where or how to best wear jeans when you're getting fatter?

I find myself in a similar situation. Pants which are comfortable at the waistline when I did keep falling down when standing up. I need a belt ASAP, because people be noticing that I keep pulling up my pants.

I found a pair of very high waisted Stradivarius jeans which are particularly stretchy (they are meant for someone at least 2 sizes smaller than I am) in a thrift store. They are the only ones that stay put but I hadn't noticed the previous owner's thighs had pretty much destroyed the crotch area... There is a hole on the right side from her legs rubbing together. 🤦‍♀️

I still wear them for now, as I have no other acceptable pant options.

I have this same issue! I have one pair that I don't have to keep pulling up thankfully, but my other two pairs I have to keep pulling up especially after I get out of my chair at work and have to walk across the room. I need to actually get belts though, I haven't tried them yet. I might get suspenders, one of my coworkers from my previous jobs had to wear suspenders at work otherwise his pants would fall down.

you seem to have a similar belly shape to mine, i had the same issue. i've tried suspenders but they always break (maybe i'm usin the wrong ones) my only fix is using a belt tight and either loosen it or putting it under my belly when i'm about to sit down, then put them back up when i stand up.
also i have to pull them back up a little bit while i walk long distances

Welp my wife bought me a belt from Amazon, and it turns out I'm too fat for it lol. xD Looks like I'll need to get a different one and give it a try.

My partner uses those belts that you loop around. It's called a double-loop belt. They are more big belly friendly.

I am all belly, no butt, and I found that those buckleless belts. They fit through the belt loops on the side of the pants and tighten that way. I found they helped me. I could never find a full on buckle belt that worked for me.

I have a big gut, and no ass, but I don't ever have this problem... I use a thick, wide belt and it holds up my pants fine.
Maybe it's a question of belly fat density. My gut is pretty solid.
