I've never been asked not to, but before my great grandparents passed two years ago I knew better than to sit at most of their dining room furniture. Most of the furniture in their house was from when they first got married in the 40's/50's and I swear people must've been built smaller back then because even two years ago my lean 170 lbs ass could hardly fit in them

Yes a few time with family, mainly older antique chairs or some plastic chairs. Not all about breaking them more for my safety.

But I also check most seats if I think they can handle my bulk comfortable.

I’ve been offered different seating, or family will bring out a stool or cooler for me to sit on sometimes. During cookouts or whatever. I’m a little heavier than 400 right now.
