Yeah, you did misunderstand. I said revenge weight gain stories have a typical beat, but variations exist. Your story is usual for the genre, with some mild variations. This is common when you are writing in any genre.
An exception would be something drastic that you never really see. For example, the person exacting revenge feels guilty and turns himself in, the revenge victim escapes, never to be seen again, or the person getting revenge is the villain, not the story's hero.
After all, what is a revenge weight gain story if not a power fantasy?
