Anguished about my colonoscopy.

Stockylove:
wow, I have a colonoscopy on Thursday morning, and I know that there is a good chance that it will go well, but I can't help but be anxious and anguished despite this, lol 😁

Have you had a colonoscopy in the past?
How did it go?

HappyBigBelly:
Wow, you won’t believe this — but I’m having one Thursday morning as well. What are the chances, right? Just checking a box due to my age range now. I don’t expect any problems, but it’s gonna be rough not eating for two whole days!

Stockylove:
I laughed when I read your comment. What time do you have an appointment, for me it's 9am (French time) (it's better for me because the sooner I have this colonoscopy, the sooner it will be sorted out and I will be stressed for a shorter period of time, and I will be fasting for a shorter time)

But don't you have to eat for 2 days?😯
I just have to fast on Thursday morning, after the famous "preparation" the day before.

HappyBigBelly:
It’s in the mid morning hours here in the central time zone in the U.S. And by two whole days, I meant tomorrow and the day of the procedure. Thankfully, it’s still another week before Thanksgiving here in the states and I should be fine by then 👍

Ha cool 😁

Anguished about my colonoscopy.

Hello, here is my verdict on my colonoscopy, I was of course anguished when I went to the hospital. But it went very well. When I woke up I was relieved and happy. And yes you are right, the colonoscopy is really not a problem, plus the doctor told me that I had nothing serious, just hemorrhoids. 😁

However there is something I do not understand. Despite the very positive assessment of the morning. I realize that I am "STILL" anguished when I should on the contrary be happy and relieved, I almost had an anxiety attack when I got home. It's weird I do not understand. My two days before my colonoscopy were very hard mentally and nervously (I even had an anxiety attack on Tuesday) and I was constantly stressed and anxious. Do you think this is the aftereffect of my two days of anxiety before the colonoscopy? It's really hard to bear every day, I hope it won't last too long.

I don't even understand why I'm still anxious, it should be fine.

medical anxiety is very common. If it’s bothering you and you don’t feel like you’re able to work through it on your own, think about talking to a professional. It’s very common and manifests in different ways with different people. Thinking about health and mortality is heady stuff.

Yes good idea, I think I will do that if it persists
