Views and likes in the ‘my stories’ area

Hi it would great to see the views and likes of my stories without having to click on the story, which adds to the total ( i think).

Also story completion, like did a users, click through, all chapters with a few minutes in between. ( or just click a good thumbnail and the bounce).

Ok i know it’s a big ask, likes and views would be good though. smiley

If you go to 'My Stories', there's a dropdown arrow under each title that shows Likes, Comments, and Views without having to open the story. (although you could always open it and subtract 1 from views if you wanted to)

The second one would be awesome, but would probably require a major coding effort and with other big projects on the table, I don't see it being short-listed. I think this site could really carve itself out as the premier fiction site for the genre, though, and giving authors tools and metrics like that would be cool and help us stand out. Nice suggestion!

Just remember, there are other things that can add views to stories besides human eyeballs, like Google, et al scraping the site for whatever it is they do, and the poltergeist that adds one view to every story every day even if it's in draft form. So don't feel like you have to play hot lava with your own stories and never open them.

Kitsune:
From what I've discovered. Google Analytics can measure pageviews automatically. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to be beginner friendly if you have no experience with HTML.

Some sites let you know how many bots are crawling it at any given time, which is a little unnerving, I think!
