Got a dexa scan... i'm way fatter than i expected!

Ever since seriously trying to gain, my body fat % according to my scale has gone from 9% to 14.5%. I know sales aren't accurate, so I figured that best case I was ~18%.

Today I got a dexa scan and it told my my body fat was 23.7%! I know I'm still pretty skinny but this is an achievement for me.

One question though -- is 1.6 lbs of visceral fat bad? It doesn't sound like a lot but it doesn't show percentiles.

BiteSize:
What is a dexa scan and how does that work? The nerd in me is hungry for data 😂

They use x rays to measure your body fat.

I’m a data nerd too, I regret not doing a scan before I started gaining

WeighAndSee: Bumping this super old post because I too got a DEXA scan and found it absolutely fascinating. (I’d been accidentally regaining after losing weight a while ago and was curious where I was at). If somewhere near you is doing them cheap I highly recommend.
