Serious question for those in the know:
I’m based in Seattle (very inclusive on paper), but the reality here is… mostly cishet, neurotypical, and very “tech-bro-transplant” vibes. A lot of folks perform wokeness but still cling to eurocentric standards and don’t actually know how to treat marginalized bodies.
Adding another layer with Feedism....
Anyways while I have amazing friends, the dating/meetup scene here has been exhausting.....fetishizing, dismissive, or just plain desperate.
I’m a trans, neurodivergent person of color, and I’m tired of being seen as a category instead of a person.
Where are the pockets of community that are:
Queer-inclusive
Fat-positive without being creepy
Neurodivergent-friendly
Actually full of good food and good people
And where bigotry isn’t tolerated as a "difference of opinion"?
This is part vacation planning, and soul searching. Just wanna go somewhere I can exist, indulge, and connect without feeling like a token or a fantasy.
