My weight is "stuck"

Rome wasn't built in a day. Plateaus are a good time to prepare for the future and see what you truly want in the long run and to what length.

Standing 8 hrs (even with Sketchers) may not be ideal, especially without good medical coverage.

Thankfully, I had taken whole life insurance during my smaller days as I was refused additional coverage at 275lbs.

To answer the question; (if you have DF tendencies) additional lifestyle changes, working 2nd shift, change in sleep patterns, stress eating, emotional attachments to food/drink/slushie etc. and surround yourself with more like minded folks.

Best of luck (either way); as growth spurts, lipidema/lymphadema/water retention/hypothyroid changes can hit quickly.

My weight is "stuck"

Munchies:
Your body will tell you when it needs a break. When you start to stall despite all you efforts, that's when you need to take that break.[/quote]

Can you elaborate on what you mean by taking a break? Do you mean eating a regular amount of calories? Eating a bit less than I do currently?

Right now I am trying to have approx 3000 cals a day. Some days I have more, some less. Most calorie calculators say I should have about 2100. Should I aim for that? 2500?

I mean, stop pushing yourself to eat more and, if you aren't already doing it, eat cleaner. Take a break from heavy cream. Take a break from fast food binges. Take a break from belly stuffing - all that other good jazz.

I do need to eat cleaner. As I've mentioned before, fast food is my weakness. I love it so much.

I wouldn't say I never eat clean. But junk and/or fast food plays a big role in my eating habits.

My hope was to reach my goal of 275 and then take it easy. I've been close for a few months now and can't get over the hump.

I think my only choice to take that break now, with the hope of not losing too much in the meantime and try again in the not too distant future.

One of the most important things a gainer can do is know when to take their foot off the gas. It's not the same thing as giving up. It's simply listening to your body's needs.

After gaining 72lbs in a year, I took a break last July because I wasn't feeling great. It lasted about 3 months and I lost 26lbs.

Since then I've re-gained 30lbs. I don't feel like crap right now, but I have only gained 5lbs in the last 3 months. I will give taking a break a shot.

This would also be a good time to do some weight training. It will help slow any weight loss, strengthen your bones and joints, and generally make you strong enough to carry additional pounds.

Remember, progress isn't linear or exponential. It's a zig-zag. But as long as things generally go in the direction you want, you are good to go.
