Pacific northwest - inland northwest?

Kitsune2:
I am from the Yakima Valley, unfortunately.

A Yam W N0 Plan:
โ€œPalm Springs of Washingtonโ€ ๐Ÿ˜‚ if the old sign is still up above the freeway ๐Ÿ˜‚ oddly I know know of more people around this lifestyle from or live there!

Kitsune2:
The sign you are referring to isn't too far from my house. It's located on the freeway that eventually leads to the Union Gap. Not sure if that's the only location or if there are more signs.

Wow really? I feel like the only FFA here! Funny enough, I have encountered women that are possibly into fat men.

Well, at least there is a small community there! ๐Ÿ˜Š But, I live for that sign, I donโ€™t know why it brings me so much joy ๐Ÿ˜‚

Maybe because the slogan is kinda lying? XD Palm Springs is a city in California full of palm trees. East Washington ofc has no palm trees. But I understand what they are trying to imply. Yakima Valley is a desert with some greenery and running rivers and lakes. I think calling it an oasis would've been more fitting.

I feel like who ever came up with that slogan is an outsider who thinks Washington is just Seattle and rains all day lol.

That sign it just one of the great quirks of the eastern side of Washington, along with Thorp Fruit, the Stonehenge in Marysville, the giant Palouse worms, and the Spokane giant red wagon slide ๐Ÿ˜‚

I never heard of the Palouse worms and Stonehenge! Another cool thing about the East side is the Looney Tunes animator and director Chucks Jones. He was born in Spokane. If only Yakima had some animator legends. Maybe I will become one someday...

Still scheming: from what I can gather for events, itโ€™s tough, but small is best, I need to find a way itโ€™s safe for people to come to!

Distance is tough for use because we have more ground to cover, but I bet with summer time travel coming up, we could all ponder timing ๐Ÿค”
