Just want to ask

Is ozempic or similar going to kill this fetish?

I understand it's a life choice for many here but the pressure from others in normal life may be too much

I certainly hope not, and I also don't think so, even though I can sort of see why you might be worried about it.

Think I already heard of some dangerous side effects. The whole thing reminds me of the Fen-Phen debacle of the 90s.

Think I also heard something about a question of access, whether it's availability or cost, so a lot of folks won't be able to use it anyway.

Eventually, I expect a similar outcome with Ozempic and so on. I just hope it won't take too many severe injuries or even death to get there.

The rise of weight loss drugs like Ozempic is certainly troubling from a fat liberation perspective and from a medical safety perspective, which are both way more important than any fetish stuff, so I don’t want to discount that it’s a problem in that regard, but I highly doubt it will “kill” fat fetish. If anything I think we should expect increased interest. People fetishize things that are taboo, and it’s looking like we’re heading back in that direction for fatness, sadly.

Y'all need to stop asking the question and think for two seconds.

People who take weight loss medication to lose weight do not want to gain weight for one reason or another. People who want to gain weight will do whatever they need to do to achieve their goal.

Neither of these facts has anything to do with having a fat fetish.

There have been feedees and gainers taking Ozempic for years in this community. Initially, this was because Ozempic is a diabetic medication. A lot of diabetics take Ozempic. Didn't stop them from being feedists.

Please, please, please, for the love of God, stop it with this idiotic, mind-numbing, useless panic about Ozempic. Someone asks this question every few months.

no because ozempic and others like it are not miracle weight loss drugs I have known multiple people who have gone on it with varying degrees of success, if you go on it thinking you’ll just magically lose weight and keep it off your completely misinformed, the people who have lost weight and kept the weight made giant changes to their diet and exercise, where as the others did not.

we are the way we are because we are more like the second group than the first group so, no I don’t think this fetish is going anywhere.

I wouldn't get all worked up over Ozempic. I was on it for my Type 2 diabetes, and I still put on weight without intentionally overeating

I personally knew two people who died from Fen-Phen when it was popular. I know of other deaths from it, too. They don't find out about all of the side effects until it is too late.
