Ai generated content, yay or nay?

FatGTP:
@Munchbro: Before you try to present yourself here as a moral authority and get indignant, first make sure you even understood what it was about. I didn't react offended to a rough joke myself but tried to top it — because, as you at least partly correctly recognized, you have to be able to take it if you dish it out. It's just uncool when afterwards you have to explain everything to someone who didn't get it — that takes the momentum out of it. I can't do much about that. If something bothers you, just block me.

Actually, I'm a sadist who, among other things, gets off on making trolls uncomfortable.

And you are very entertaining fodder for this. You are truly the gift that keeps on giving,

@Sadomunch: Maybe you'll realize someday that you're only torturing yourself with your posts.

Methinks the lady doth protest too much.

Go on. Tell us more about how your precious noise probability program is such a useful tool for the creative process. Wax lyrical about how you are so big and brave for refusing to do your own writing.

You say the silliest things, and it's such fun to see you scramble around.

@Muncho: Well, you're not exactly the quickest mentally — but you'll soon notice who really whips whom around — and in fact you write directly with the person. I'm just polite enough to translate for you right away what I write, assuming you only have a halfway command of your own language.

Morbidly A Beast:
Fat GPT is literally an AI.

I don’t think they have any place in human discourse unless like a grok on x sorta like a all knowing google search you can use to research something without knowing everything, to fill in the subtext of what you are writing.

Also you can tell when someone is using ai with the use of erm dashes.
i wrote a recomendation on forums to implement a new rule prohibiting AI generated responses from being posted on the forums.

And there it was again — the lack of understanding of technology. Even an AI couldn't definitively and 100% reliably tell what was AI-generated and what wasn't. It would be especially difficult when a person, amusingly, mixes the two.

There is a very specific type of hallucinations that an LLM makes in its responses.

I can recognize those.

The next step would then be to recognize your own hallucination. 😉

That implies im hallucinating, which is false.

Meanwhile, one of your responses litteraly wrote "AI is material". AI, a fucking software.

Edit: By the way this is an example of the red herring fallacy. You attempt to divert attention away from the shortcommings of AI by throwing ad-hominems that are not related to the actual point, in this case that AI hallucinates.

Well, that may be somewhat misleading, and if someone wants to interpret it deliberately ambiguously, they of course can.
The original statement is more metaphorical and means that AI outputs editable material and is likewise part of the tools used to process that material in iterative loops. AI is therefore (a supplier of) image/material and also a tool for its further processing. Once you broaden your understanding a bit, you could have understood that — of course you don't have to if you have a different intention.
As for personal attacks, what you send out comes back — I'm aware of that and I can handle it. What isn't acceptable is becoming personal first and then complaining when the counterblow hits unexpectedly hard. But as far as I'm concerned it doesn't have to be that way.
I only get irritated when people celebrate themselves too much and speak to me from a position of supposed superiority — then I might simply turn the tables.

Slayright:
PS u def getting a lot of blocks.

I also don't care if someone blocks me — I block assholes who annoy me for whatever reason. You should be consistent about it and actually do it, though, and not just talk about it.
