Maltodextrin & heavy cream

Hey y’all!
I’ve been gaining and losing for over 10 years, mostly using heavy cream shakes every night. I wanted to ask—has anyone here tried using maltodextrin, and what difference did it make for your fat/weight gain?

My health and blood levels are good, so I’m planning a 2-month stint to kick off my “final gain” and really blossom into the body I’ve always wanted. In the past, I was gaining 5–8 lbs a week on about 3,500–5,000 food calories plus 2,400–2,800 calories from heavy cream and melted ice cream.

This time I’ll be doing a half-dose of maltodextrin since I know the spikes can be risky for diabetes. But honestly, this has been my dream for so long. I’ve accepted it’s a possibility, and I’d rather finally be content in my body than always wonder “what if.”
