Home cooking vs take out

So I'm still super new here, it's very possible I just haven't found the right corner of the site yet.
Any who, I'm noticing very seldom home cooking and meal prep are discussed as a whole.
I'm a huge Foodie on top of being a Gainer. I love cooking and baking. I'm so excited for this time of year and making all sorts of great food and eating it of course lol.

So I guess my questions are, where are my fellow home cooks/bakers at? What are some of your go-to dishes, especially this time of year?

It's the perfect time of year for soups, stews, and roasts

Always nice to see someone excited to cook especially someone this time of year! smiley Love too cook myself though my answer is probably going to be very boring im comparison.

Things I like to cook this time of year are soups, from homemade chicken noodles to more creative soup options. Love to experiment a little with certain soup combo's. :3 My favorite soup too make is a old family recipe: Spaghetti soup.

Ham is also a really good option to make this time of year as well for obvious reasons. Plus homemade hot wings are my personal favorite too cook.

Yes to all the soups!! What everyone's favorite/repeat recipes?

This time of year I'm making my lemon ginger chicken soup at least once if not twice a month. I make enough to stock the freezer for when sick days hit.

Another favorite in my house is stuffed pepper stew. I'll make at least two loaves of corn bread to go with it.

If anyone is interested, I'm happy to share recipes ❀️

Yam - I want your take on the mole recipe lol 🀣🀀

Favorite Recipe would be Spaghetti Soup, an old family recipe that has been passed down through my family even if its not really all that creative of a recipe. But still its perfect for cold days and sick days. Like to make a loaf of garlic bread on the side to dip into the soup base, perfection.

Favorite experimental recipe that I think would be perfect for colder times is an Asian Pot Luck soup. Made it during the summer, picked up the soup base from the store and threw three kinds of meats: imitation crab meat, Chinese pork, and oysters along with Udon noodles. Actually tasted really good and I am most certainly going to pick up more soon as that is a good few days of eating with the amount I make. XD

Wifey and I have too many faves for me to name here 😁

If pressed, I’d say we enjoy doing a homemade butter chicken and other similar Indian-inspired rice dishes, plus a sausage pasta dish with herbs and peppers.

Per request, here's a crockpot version of the stuffed pepper soup:
pin.it/6bnkKrUZo

I personally prefer to make it on the stove in a dutch oven.
-1lb ground beef and 1lbs ground sweet Italian sausage - add just a splash of water to the pot and cook the meats together over medium heat
-Remove the meat from the pot, just setting aside for a couple minutes
-Add one whole chopped sweet onion, cooking it in the fat from the meat
-About 3 mins in, add 3 cloves of finely chopped garlic, continue to cook down for a minute
-Now add 3 whole chopped bell peppers. Cooking them down with the onions and garlic for another 5 min
-Add your meat back in, also adding 1/4 cup brown sugar, 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce, 1/2 tsp paprika, 1 tsp Italian seasoning
-Once combined, add 4 cans of diced tomatoes and 2 cups of water, letting everything heat in and start bubbling. Add salt and pepper to your taste.
-once it's bubbling, reduce the heat to a simmer, put the lid on a leave it alone for at least an hour. Don't touch it, just let it work it's magic.
I personally make this around lunchtime so we can eat it at dinner time, letting it simmer for a couple hours
I will either make rice or corn bread to go with it. I don't add rice to the same pot because I usually freeze some.

Happy eating πŸ₯°

Sounds amazing πŸ‘ Anything in a crock pot truly hits the spot when colder weather sets in! Not quite there yet in my area, but we’re getting closer. I like to do a corned beef in a crock pot with all the dry seasoning goodies I can throw in there.

One of my favourite soup recipes would have to be Broccoli/ Stilton soup.

I'd very much be interested in seeing any recipes you send my way πŸ˜€
